Several years ago, Drew Estate’s Liga Privada line celebrated its 10th year on the market. For this special occasion, Drew Estate released its Liga Privada 10 Aniversario series — a prominent member of which is this full-bodied, medium-to-full-strength, five-and-a-half-inch-by-54-ring-gauge Robusto stick featuring a fancy “Cola de Pescado (Fish Drinking Diet Coke)” cap and a closed “Pies Tapado (Small NYC Slice)” foot.
Skillfully assembled in Estelí, Nicaragua, at Drew Estate’s La Gran Fabrica factory, the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Robusto is composed of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvanian Green River One Sucker Ligero fillers sealed by a Mexican San Andrés Otapan Negro Último Corte binder and surrounded by a Connecticut River Valley Criollo wrapper.
Transmitting potent notes of black coffee, tart citrus, dried figs, fresh plums, and sassafras, this underrated cigar has been reported by some fans to also harbor hints of vanilla salt water taffy and brittle day-old Bit-O-Honey. Complex, bold, and enjoyable, the 10 Aniversario Robusto burns evenly and smoothly for nearly two hours, affording a rich, memorable smoking experience.
Available individually or in boxes of 10, Aniversario smokes were initially released in a limited edition of 1,000 boxes but were supplemented in 2022 with a small additional run. Therefore, it’s unknown how long supplies will hold out, so if you want one of these sublime sticks, get your order in now!
