Rocky Patel’s The Edge line of cigars is one of the company’s greatest success stories, with RP offering many new Edge varieties over the years, including the relatively recently introduced Connecticut (formerly known as The Edge Lite).
The Edge Connecticut is a mild-to-medium-bodied Connecticut-wrapped cigar that just happened to have won numerous Long Ash competitions for its unfaltering, solid ash; Rocky calls it the perfect cigar for the golf course.
But The Edge Connecticut has much more going for it than simply exquisite ash; it’s also a great value for being a premium Honduran cigar made to the highest quality standards at grower Nestor Plasencia’s El Paraíso factory. Incorporating an Ecuadorian shade-grown Connecticut-seed wrapper, Honduran fillers and a Honduran binder, The Edge Connecticut exhibits notes of creamy nougat, dried fruit, white pepper, leather and charred earth, along with a floral finish.
In 2016, Cigar Aficionado rated the Edge Double Corona vitola (in its previous Edge Lite incarnation) a 91, while rating the Battalion size an 89. Since then, the emphasis placed on the Connecticut wrapper has only improved this cigar’s perceived character and worth; try picking a box up today and experiencing them for yourself.
