As one of the most acclaimed smokes in the Padrón Serie 1926 line of cigars, the No. 35 in a Natural wrapper was rated 90 or above by Cigar Aficionado magazine on no less than eight separate occasions, with ratings of 92 being awarded in 2016 and 2018.
Despite its short stature, this box-pressed, “puro” Nicaraguan, miniature-Robusto-sized stick boasts a lush, easy draw, an even burn and superior construction. Its wrapper, binder and filler leaves are all a minimum of five years old. Medium-bodied, medium-to-full-strength and complex, the 1926 No. 35 Natural outputs dense, chewy, earthy smoke, fortified with mesquite and black-pepper flavors that transition gradually to essences of Kona coffee beans and Padrón’s signature cocoa nibs. Leather, cedar, hickory, maple, coconut and caramel also make an appearance, followed by a spicy, nutty finish.
Undeniably rich and satisfying, the Padrón Serie 1926 No. 35 Natural is named after the birth year of late, legendary Padrón founder José Orlando Padrón, who was extremely proud of this series when it was released in 2002 to commemorate his 75th birthday. If you haven’t yet sampled the 1926 line, you owe it to yourself to try these smokes, as they’re some of Padrón’s best creations to date.
