In late 2012, cigar retailers began to get word of a new, extremely limited-edition Arturo Fuente smoke featuring sun-grown rosado wrappers over the same Dominican fillers used in the brand’s well-received Don Carlos line. The boxes of these cigars were simply stamped “Unnamed Reserve” and contained the standard Arturo Fuente crest on the inside with the handwritten words “Sin Nombre,” which translates to “without a name.” Being in limited supply, they quickly became hot sellers and garnered attention among smoking cognoscenti.
Rolled at the Fuente family’s Tabacalera A. Fuente factory in Santiago in the Dominican Republic, these cigars offer sweet, creamy flavors of espresso, dark chocolate, licorice, earth, leather, oak, raisins and toast. Construction is excellent, the burn is phenomenal, smoke production is above average, and they possess a superb draw. Strength is medium-to-full.
While these sticks haven’t been reviewed in too many places, it’s possible their name has confused people. Don’t be fooled by their lack of an official moniker; these are premium, limited-edition cigars that are some of the best Arturo Fuente has to offer. Get them while they last!
