Having debuted in 2019, the Aladino Corojo Reserva No. 4 is a limited-edition vitola in a petite corona format that’s produced just once per year.
Like the other sticks in the Aladino Corojo Reserva series, the No. 4 is a puro Honduran cigar that makes use of JRE Tobacco’s highly renowned “Authentic Corojo” leaves for its wrapper, binder, and fillers. But in the case of the No. 4, higher priming leaves (those that are stronger and smaller and come from higher up on the tobacco plant) are utilized, resulting in a distinctive, more powerful cigar.
Produced at JRE’s Los Lomas factory in Honduras’ Jamastran Valley by torcedores under the direction of Cuban-born master cigar blender and tobacco cultivator Julio Eiroa (who, at the age of 85, remains highly active in the industry), this limited-edition Corojo Reserva vitola is slim and enveloped in a medium-brown wrapper that serves to conceal its robustness.
With an easy draw, an even burn, a medium-to-full body, and medium strength, the No. 4 can be counted on for a delectable 50- to 90-minute smoke. Its cedary, leathery, earthy aromas, sweet citrusy-floral notes, and traces of white and black pepper, creamy cocoa, baked apple, nuts, and cardamom are all evidence of Eiroa’s true artistry in cigar blending.
Available for a very limited time in boxes of 20, the Aladino Corojo Reserva No. 4 is one of the best exemplifications of the Corojo Reserva series. Consider picking up a box today — particularly if you enjoy relatively strong smokes — and experience the majesty of Eiroa’s handiwork.
