As the longest smoke in Drew Estate’s intense, fierce ACID Red sub-range, the five-inch, Robusto-sized ACID Liquid proffers a full, rich, hearty aroma, with its pigtailed, tan Connecticut Shade wrapper encasing artfully aged Nicaraguan binder and long-filler tobaccos. Solidly constructed, amply drawing and dead-evenly burning, the ACID Liquid boasts a mild-to-medium body, with medium-to-full strength.
Like the other members of the ACID series, the ACID Liquid is infused with more than 100 individual herbs, botanicals and essential oils instilled via a top-secret, proprietary process that takes place in dedicated curing rooms at Drew Estate’s Gran Fabrica cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Like all the other sticks in the ACID series, the Liquid gets the “ACID” part of its name from the business acronym (Arielle Chester Industrial Design, or A.C.I.D.) of Brooklyn urban/industrial/graffiti/motorcycle artist Scott Chester, whose artwork graces all ACID cigar packaging.
According to Chester, “The ACID concept represents a lifestyle intended to depict a person who’s not afraid to explore the Earth or explore life, whether on a motorcycle, or in his own thoughts and expressions.”
Indeed, the red labels on these ACID Liquid sticks are designed to serve as a caution of sorts for those who wish to explore their unbounded, exotic and vibrant flavors. Suffice it to say that the tastes of the ACID Liquid include earth, dark wine, tart cherries, peppery spice, cashews and floral notes. Their finish is woody, toasty and delectable to the very end. (Be careful not to burn your fingers!)
The ACID Liquid makes a great after-dinner cigar, as its scents and tastes are akin to a luscious (yet not-too-sweet) dessert. Or, try one in the morning, for a fresh, herbal, outdoorsy start to your day. Either way, you won’t be able to hold back the irrepressible, inimitable ACID quality that these sticks possess. Consider yourself warned!
