The ACID series of cigars from Drew Estate takes its name from the business acronym of Brooklyn urban/industrial/graffiti/motorcycle artist Scott Chester — Arielle Chester Industrial Design, or A.C.I.D. A silhouette of Chester with his motorcycle appears on all ACID cigar packaging.
This particular cigar — the Drew Estate ACID 1400cc, a member of the sweet and aromatic ACID Blue line — draws its numerical moniker from what is commonly considered the largest size of a motorcycle engine.
In Scott Chester’s own words, “The ACID concept represents a lifestyle intended to depict a person who’s not afraid to explore the Earth or explore life, whether on a motorcycle, or in his own thoughts and expressions.”
The 1400cc is a five-inch-long, 50-ring gauge, mellow-strength, medium-bodied cigar integrating fine, velvety, aged Nicaraguan binder and long-filler tobaccos, surrounded by a beautiful, smooth Connecticut Shade wrapper. Each stick is packaged in its own glass tube to preserve the creamy, nutty, spicy and mildly sweet flavors of the 100-plus high-quality herb and botanical essences inside, infused by means of a top-secret, proprietary process that only a small cadre of VIPs at Drew Estate are privy to.
Smokers have reported traces of leather, cloves and lilac tea among the 1400cc’s multivarious infusions. The tobaccos in every ACID 1400cc cigar are cured for months in dedicated aging rooms prior to being meticulously rolled by hand at Drew Estate’s Gran Fabrica factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The 1400cc is a flavorful, aromatic, satisfying cigar that’s taken the world by storm since its debut two decades ago. Immaculately constructed, with an even burn and an ultra-smooth draw, the 1400cc is one of Drew Estate’s most popular sticks, enjoyed worldwide by cigar novices and experienced smokers alike. If you haven’t tried this variety (or the ACID series as a whole), the 1400cc makes a great introduction to the ACID family.
